As a web designer, I use Photoshop a lot. It’s my go-to program for mocking up designs and re-touching my photos. Although it’s a great tool, there’s always room for improvement. This is is where plugins come in handy and extend the application’s feature set. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite plugins

GuideGuide

A no brainer. Guideguide helps keep things in line by extending the default ruler’s functionality. You can set how many columns you want, find the dead center and do more, faster. It also has a neat little demo on the plugin’s website, which you should definitely check out.

Cut and Slice me

Cut and slice me is easily the most useful tool I’ve come across for slicing up my PSD’s. It takes the pain out of slicing up your designs and lets you export your assets into a folder without any problems. It’s a must have for web designers.

CSS3Ps

CSS3Ps is a cloud based plugin that converts your layers to CSS3. In scenarios where you might not want to use images in your project, this plugin will transform it to CSS.

Random User Generator

Random user generator lets you instantly generate random photos of users and their matching names, which can be dragged in to your workspace. If you need high quality images or random people quickly, this is the plugin for you.

Adobe Kuler

Adobe Kuler simply helps you select colour schemes and browse a range of user-generated combinations for inspiration.

Long Shadow Generator

A fan of long shadows? This lets you generate long shadows to your layers within a few seconds. You can choose the direction of the shadow, adjust the length, opacity and even select whether you want a white or black shadow.
